What’s something you want to get better at by the end of the year?

Check-in, time! Let’s share the things we want to improve by the end of December. Whether it has to do with your health, habits, finances, spirituality, work, hobbies, or goals, what do you want to improve, learn, get better at, or change by the end of 2023?

My Reflection

I’ll go first!

Something I really want to improve is prioritizing self-care when I’m taking a break. I often find myself thinking of work or everything I want to accomplish when I’m trying to rest, leaving me exhausted most of the time. I want to learn how to relax my thoughts and nervous system so I’m actually resting when I need to.

Setting Intentions: What Are Your Themes for 2022?

Setting My Intention

The words that are themes for me this year, in 2022, are “intuition” and “boundaries.

As I actualize myself this year in confidence and freedom, I will listen and pay attention to my needs, wants, desires and intuition. I step forward with better understanding of my thoughts, behaviors, habits and growth. I continuously attract what is for my highest good and take opportunities that are best for me.

I am kind to myself as I navigate through tough emotions like frustration, shame, guilt and anger and I do so with grace and compassion for myself.

I grow in awareness of how to create safe and comfortable spaces for myself and do so regularly.

I am worthy of love and balance. I create the reality I deserve.

I welcome peace every morning. I am ready for each day.

Your Turn!

Set a new year intention:

What word or words are your themes for 2022?

What affirmation, mantra, or agreement can you create and practice to help you to remember and stick to your intention?

Pencil Case Prompts: To Me…From Me…

Activity

Write an encouraging message to yourself for the week ahead.

The message can include a goal you have, an affirmation you want to practice, self-care methods you want to add to your schedule, or a reminder to do your best.

My Reflection

To Nina,

Take one moment at a time. Whatever you accomplish this week is good enough. Remember to rest and take breaks. You are doing a great job so far. I’m proud of you.

Here are some details for the event:
Title
My Garden of Growth
Description
“My Garden of Growth” is a creative and fun event focused on reflecting on ourselves, our growth, and the year ahead of us. Starting with an ice breaker, we will think about 1 limiting belief, unproductive habit, or behavior we would like to release from 2020, and 1 positive and productive intention we will like to stamp on 2021. The main activity will then be to draw and create a garden. Each tool or part of our garden drawing will represent different parts of our growth process. This includes different methods of self-care we want to try or continue this year on our watering cans, changes we will like to make on our shovels, and affirmations, positive intentions, goals, and ambitions on our flowers, plants, and soil. Lastly, we will close by sharing our works of art!
Materials
Paper, writing utensils (pen, pencil, markers, or crayons).

Hope to see you there!

Pencil Case Prompts: Self-Advocating

To honor your needs is to reflect and prioritize what is most important to you and for you. Honoring your needs allows you to grow in self-awareness and self-compassion.

Become intentional with your needs so you can vocalize and advocate for yourself whenever your needs aren’t being met.

Activity

What are some ways you can honor your needs better?

-What are the ways to best honor your needs?
-Why are those ways important to you and your self-care?

My Reflection

I can honor my needs better by not feeling bad or guilty for being vocal about what I need.
If on the occasion I feel bad about asserting my needs, I tend to fall into people-pleasing behaviors abandoning my needs altogether.

Affirmation: I will be open and honest about what I need and not feel like a burden to others when asserting those needs.

As we continue the journey of learning what it means to set goals and carry them out, we come to the question of how to hold ourselves accountable for the goals we set. Without accountability, all we have are thoughts and ideas with potential. Without action there are no results.

Activity

So, what can you do to prioritize the goals you set?

-What actions do you take to prioritize the goals that mean something to you?
-Why are those actions important in your goal setting journey?
-How are those actions holding you accountable for reaping results?

Reflection

As ambitious as I am, I make goals all the time. Making goals isn’t the issue for me, remembering all the goals and making them feasible is how I can hold myself accountable to them. I can accomplish this by writing down my goals once they are manageable then create a plan and to-do list.

Give Yourself Time

No matter how the clock ticks, or how much time elapsed since the last time I felt at peace, I give myself permission to take life slowly.

All that is for me will make its way to me and all that is not for me will exit swiftly.

I wake up and whatever I feel I will acknowledge and let pass. I welcome gratitude every day I’m able to experience another day.

Today is my day. Today I am brave. Today I am strong.

No matter what, I will give myself time.
