I’m excited to share that my friend and fellow NAMI-NYC Ending the Silence and In Our Own Voice co-presenter, Lady Charmaine Day, asked me to be on her podcast, Taboo Talk! In this episode I share my 21 pearls of wisdom on how to live a good life as well as my journey living in recovery. Feel free to check it out here or in the video below!
I welcome positive change and transformation into my life. I am equipped to face any challenge that comes my way. I am grateful for what I’m learning and I’m ready to continue on my journey.
Reflection: I did it! I challenged myself to create, write, and reflect every day for 7 days. I’m so proud of myself for keeping at it. I feel a lot better than I did a week ago. I’m ready for what’s next and will keep doing my best 😇.
The theme for today is self-care. My affirmations are:
I allow myself to rest and regain my energy. I know how to manage my time effectively. I prioritize self-care because it’s important to me and I deserve to feel good.
Reflection: How I think about self-care is evolving and changing every day. Self-care for me can include being kind to myself, doing something creative regularly, and setting daily personal goals. The more I get to know myself, the better my mind and body feel.
Today’s affirmations are about me, money, and wealth. They are:
I am financially wealthy. Money flows to me effortlessly both in expected and unexpected ways. My prosperity is limitless. I am open to receiving all wealth life brings to me.
Reflection: *Takes deep breath*. Unfortunately, I experienced a panic episode today. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt this amount of overwhelm, but I’ll be kind to myself as I gain my energy back. I was sitting in a meeting and remember getting a flood of negative thoughts, especially about money and security. The fear associated with wealth can stop me in my tracks and be challenging to gain confidence around. I want to get a better grasp at manifesting financial and other types of wealth and feel good about my skills, talents, and abilities. I know things will get better for me, I just have to be patient with myself. I’m ready to continue to move forward.
I think it’s about time I’ve done another themed writing series! For this series I’ll be writing personal daily affirmations 🦋.
Today’s affirmations are:
I trust myself and the decisions I make. I’m allowed to make mistakes and learn new lessons every day. I take my time and do my best. Good things happen to me regularly.
Reflection: As I navigate new environments and meet new people, I’m learning to trust myself better and not be afraid to make mistakes. I affirm that my best can look different every day and I can do a good job every time. I don’t have to be perfect. I’m allowed to learn as I go and be kind to myself in the process.

Horse 🐴: I am fierce. I can achieve what I set my mind to.
Koala 🐨: I am kind to myself. I allow myself moments of peace and rest.

Activity
What’s something you want to get better at by the end of the year?
Check-in, time! Let’s share the things we want to improve by the end of December. Whether it has to do with your health, habits, finances, spirituality, work, hobbies, or goals, what do you want to improve, learn, get better at, or change by the end of 2023?
My Reflection
I’ll go first!
Something I really want to improve is prioritizing self-care when I’m taking a break. I often find myself thinking of work or everything I want to accomplish when I’m trying to rest, leaving me exhausted most of the time. I want to learn how to relax my thoughts and nervous system so I’m actually resting when I need to.

The words that are themes for me this year, in 2022, are “intuition” and “boundaries.
As I actualize myself this year in confidence and freedom, I will listen and pay attention to my needs, wants, desires and intuition. I step forward with better understanding of my thoughts, behaviors, habits and growth. I continuously attract what is for my highest good and take opportunities that are best for me.
I am kind to myself as I navigate through tough emotions like frustration, shame, guilt and anger and I do so with grace and compassion for myself.
I grow in awareness of how to create safe and comfortable spaces for myself and do so regularly.
I am worthy of love and balance. I create the reality I deserve.
I welcome peace every morning. I am ready for each day.
Your Turn!
Set a new year intention:
What word or words are your themes for 2022?
What affirmation, mantra, or agreement can you create and practice to help you to remember and stick to your intention?
I heal my nervous system and open myself to love. To love myself and to be loved by others. I am worthy of love, a healthy love, a fun love, a powerful love, a balanced love.
I am safe within myself. I trust myself. I am what I need. I love my body. My body loves me. I accept myself fully.
I am free to create. Free to prioritize myself. Free to understand who I am. I am free to feel my feeling. Free to my own perspective. Free to learn. Free to make mistakes. Free to move forward.
I feel peace. I am at home in my peace. I am at home within myself. I grow more powerful every day.
Write an encouraging message to yourself for the week ahead.
The message can include a goal you have, an affirmation you want to practice, self-care methods you want to add to your schedule, or a reminder to do your best.
My Reflection
To Nina,
Take one moment at a time. Whatever you accomplish this week is good enough. Remember to rest and take breaks. You are doing a great job so far. I’m proud of you.

Title
My Garden of Growth
Description
“My Garden of Growth” is a creative and fun event focused on reflecting on ourselves, our growth, and the year ahead of us. Starting with an ice breaker, we will think about 1 limiting belief, unproductive habit, or behavior we would like to release from 2020, and 1 positive and productive intention we will like to stamp on 2021. The main activity will then be to draw and create a garden. Each tool or part of our garden drawing will represent different parts of our growth process. This includes different methods of self-care we want to try or continue this year on our watering cans, changes we will like to make on our shovels, and affirmations, positive intentions, goals, and ambitions on our flowers, plants, and soil. Lastly, we will close by sharing our works of art!
Materials
Paper, writing utensils (pen, pencil, markers, or crayons).
