Treat Yourself With Kindness Today

Ever had a conversation with your higher self, realizing that in those moments the words you speak are also the words you would say to the people you love the most.

Growing in self-love is learning to treat yourself like you would treat someone you love and would want them to be kind to themselves. Encouraging them to keep going and to be strong because you see that in them. As much as you see the strength in them is also the strength that is present  in you.

Treat yourself with kindness today. Allow yourself grace through the toughest moment. Remember that emotions don’t make you weak, especially the ones that weigh heavy on your heart.

You are worthy of love and acceptance. No one can take away your strength. No one can strip you of your worth.

I love you.

Pencil Case Prompts: What Is Your Favorite Quote, Affirmation, or Mantra?

Activity

What quote, affirmation, or mantra helps you to keep going?

Note: Feel free to share as many as you would like!

My Reflection

My favorite mantra is one that I created comparing myself to a butterfly!

It goes like this:
Like a butterfly, I allow myself to transform – transform more into who I am every day. I will learn through the challenges and never give up. I acknowledge that transformation takes time and patience. I am ready.

Learning the Discomfort in Growth

Bask in the discomfort of change. Challenge old habits and behaviors that keep you in karmic cycles, reliving the same scenario with different people, places, and circumstances. What do you need to learn? How can you claim what you know is yours? The more you learn the better you will understand your power. You are in control of your life.

Redefining the New “Normal” by Taking a Step Back

In a rapidly changing world where “normal” is being redefined and challenged, it feels different and strange to imagine what we once knew as everyday life shifting. It’s mind-boggling to think we are adjusting and adapting. But, what are we adapting and adjusting to? Big buzzwords, for those of us who have been quarantined or stuck at home and even those essential workers going out risking their health every day, are fear, anxiety, productivity, motivation, worth, and purpose.

  • What does it mean to be productive?
  • What does it mean to feel motivated?
  • What does it mean to feel worth and purpose?
  • How are we learning to self-care and make decisions about how we view ourselves and what we want in life?
  • What do fear and anxiety mean for us?
  • What is mental, emotional, and physical health?
  • How will socializing change or shift?
  • How do we define success or accomplishments?

As we ponder and navigate who we are during this exhausting period in history, I caution us to be gentle with ourselves and take a step back. Give ourselves time to understand that it’s okay to take a minute or more to slow down. Even with our everyday responsibilities, reflection and self-care are necessary. We are not living the same way we were last year or even a few months ago. We do not have to pile on expectations and lists of things to do. We also can give ourselves permission to prioritize our mental and physical health; make goals, and shorten our lists to things that mean something to us.

Note: Don’t be afraid to put yourself first.

Take a moment to jot down your needs and personal goals. How will you self-care today? Have you been checking in with your feelings and mental state?

It’s okay to take a step back.

You define what is best for you.

Life Lessons: What I Wish I Knew as a Child that I Know Now

Dear Nina,

It’s been a really rough 2020 already. It’s tried to knock you down, step on you, and declare your defeat. What 2020 doesn’t know is you already declared that no matter what, you will figure out how to bounce back EVERY SINGLE TIME. No matter how complicated or complex the struggle, nothing will overcome your resilience.

I know you’re hurting but I also know you learned so much through the pain you endured.

You learned that:

  • It’s okay to be sensitive.
  • It’s okay to cry and express emotions.
  • Learn early how to love and accept yourself.
  • You are different and that fact will catalyst your passion.
  • People will look out for themselves.
  • Put yourself first because no one else will.
  • You are not like everyone, your self-care looks different.
  • You don’t need to be with someone to be whole.
  • Your empathy is powerful, build it up.
  • You have a soft and gentle spirit, protect yourself, learn how to say no.
  • Your mind will tell you a lot of lies, declare your power and control over yourself.
  • People have their own trauma and will show it through their behavior, do not take it personal.
  • Self-awareness is scary but necessary.
  • Your mind is very very powerful, use it to create and influence change.
  • Your purpose is beyond what you can fathom, manifest it with all of your being.
  • Depression and anxiety will not defeat you.

It’s taken some time to learn these lessons, and probably would have been helpful growing up, but you know now and that’s what’s important. You know that your life is valuable although you may feel tortured sometimes. Keep that smile on your face because its beyond beautiful.

Despite the pain, the tears, and the loneliness, you have a job to do. Get up and keep going.

With love and power, SparklyWarTanks

SWT 100 Notes Note 39: Proof

Note to self:

The proof of worthiness is self-acceptance. To be worthy is to accept all that is you unapologetically. There is no need to go above and beyond to convince anyone of your greatness. You are great and beautiful all on your own. Be yourself.

Accept all that is you. Become comfortable with your self-worth separate from others and how they treat you or how much work you finished.

You

Are

Enough.

You

Are

Beautiful.

You

Have

Intrinsic

Worth.
