Taking Back My Time

Description:
“Taking Back My Time” is a creative, reflective, and fun event where we will draw, write, and reflect about important moments in our lives, goals and interests that we have, and our views on the passage of time. Starting with an ice breaker, we will sketch an image and write about one thing that’s on your bucket list this year. The main activity will then be to pick one of three activities. The first activity will be to draw a clock, hour glass, or calendar and share what your thoughts and ideas are when you think about the passage of time and how it affects you, the second activity will be to write a rhyming poem about a task or goal that you are procrastinating or prioritizing, and the third activity will be to write a journal entry about an important moment in your life and how it’s shaped who you are today. Lastly, we will close by sharing our works of art.

Materials
Paper, writing utensils (pen, pencil, markers, or crayons).

At Home Within Myself: I Know Who I Am

Description:
“At Home Within Myself: I Know Who I Am” is a creative, reflective, and fun event where we will draw, write, and reflect about ourselves. Starting with an ice breaker, we will sketch an image and write a list of 3 things you want to focus on, get done, or achieve this weekend. The main activity will then be to pick one of three activities. The first activity will be to draw a house and around that house write your favorite hobbies, things that help you get through the day, habits that you find helpful and would like to continue, and boundaries you want to set for yourself, the second activity will be to write a poem about a challenge you want to overcome or something you want to do differently moving forward, and the third activity will be write a journal entry describing a weakness you want to turn into a strength or a strength you want to build on. Lastly, we will close by sharing our works of art.

Materials:
Paper, writing utensils (pen, pencil, markers, or crayons).

Seasonal Reflections

Description:
“Seasonal Reflections” is a creative and reflective event where we will draw and write about the closing of this year, 2023. Starting with an ice breaker, we will sketch an image and complete this sentence: If I could describe this year using one word, the word I would use is _______ . The main activity will then be to pick one of three activities. The first activity will be to draw an image or series of images of things that remind you of this time of year (this can include holiday themes, the change in weather, family or community traditions, special events etc.), the second activity will be to write a poem or journal entry about how this year was for you overall, things you’ve learned, or what you would like to let go of/move on from, and the third activity will be to make a seasonal or holiday card of your choosing. Lastly, we will close by sharing our works of art.

Starting with an ice breaker, we will sketch an image and write a thank you note to a person, place, thing, or ideas that’s been helpful for us this year. The main activity will then be to pick one of two activities. The first activity will be to draw a treasure map with all the things we find valuable in our lives, and the second activity will be to write a poem or journal entry about something or someone that’s made a profound impact on us. Lastly, we will close by sharing our works of art.

“A Butterfly’s Wings” is a creative and fun event where we get to know one another by sharing about ourselves and who we are as we draw, write, and create. Starting with an ice breaker, we will sketch an image and finish this sentence: Comfort to me looks like ___________. The main activity will then be to pick one of three activities. The first activity will be to draw a butterfly and color the wings different colors assigning each color a characteristic that describes you; the second activity will be to write an encouraging and uplifting message to yourself; and the third activity will be to write an acrostic poem or song using the letters of your first name. Lastly, we will close by sharing our works of art.

The first activity will be to pick a color and draw as many things you can think of that’s the color you chose; and the second activity will be to write a descriptive poem about a time when you witnessed a beautiful scenery. Description

“Shine Your Light” is a creative and fun event where we will reflect and share about our most authentic selves. Starting with an ice breaker, we will sketch an image and finish this sentence “I feel good when I _____.” The main activity will then be to pick one of two activities. The first activity will be to either draw a sun, light bulb, or candle, and around our drawing write down our hobbies, skills, talents, interests and things we are good at or learning to be good at; and the second activity will be to write a descriptive poem about a moment when we felt free to be ourselves. Lastly, we will close by sharing our works of art.
